SolarisJapan - Counterfeit FigureSolarisJapan - Counterfeit FigureMisc

item #179035

So i will speak for my friend since he was the one who purchased this item through SolarisJapan but i also feel the same way because we unboxed this figure together.

It all started with our love for Tokisaki Kurumi and Griffons version of her. Then we saw through MFC about SolarisJapan and decided to check to see how much they sold her for. Now their price would go up and down for some reason and one day we saw her for $198.00 and decided to purchase her ( prntscr.com/6bi... ) . We were excited that we purchased her since this version of Kurumi was the first release.
After five days of waiting to get to us, we got it.....

First thing i noticed as we opened it was that it did not have a sticker of authenticity in the front of the box ( prntscr.com/6bi... ) .I didn't want to open the box because i wanted to contact SolarisJapan about this problem. We waited two days for their reply and got nothing from them. We opened the box and got this awful smell coming out the figure itself and i already thought to myself this is definitely a fake. The box also had her name scraped off ( prntscr.com/6bi... ) now keep in mind that this figure was purchased " BRAND NEW " so i was already confused and upset about SolarisJapan sending us this. Then we inspected the base of the figure and it was absolutely horrible what i saw ( prntscr.com/6bi... ) I mean look at it...its such in bad condition and scratched up all over the place * ok calm down * phew... the figure to me besides the awful smell was terrible quality, we were only able to put one of her feet in the pegs since the other wasn't the right length ( prntscr.com/6bi... ) Now I'm not sure if only one her feet is suppose to be in either side of the pegs but it doesn't look normal to me or correct.

So in conclusion , this will be my first and last time I will ever look at or order anything from SolarisJapan. They claim to treat their customers like a " ★ " . I was treated like poop. I strongly suggest that MFC get rid of SolarisJapan from their " Approved Partner Shops " since they sell counterfeit items and are making people go through this exact same thing i am going through. Anyway I hope this helps and makes people think twice about purchasing from SolarisJapan. I will update this if i ever hear from SolarisJapan and keep you guys updated . thank you for reading and bye!

*Update*
My friend was refunded all of his money that he paid for this figure and also for the shipping ^ ^ I'm so glad he got it back. As for pursuing this figure we will just wait for a pre owned figure to pop up from a trusted website that we buy from all the time. In the end all is forgiven and I'm glad this issue was resolved.

gumonshoe8 years ago#2758766seriously guys, don't give them a pass on this. this is a bootleg. you can't chalk it up to Griffon's poor quality--yea, they are typically poor, but this is absurd. if the other signs weren't enough, prototype AND user images corroborate this...it is so glaring, the straps and corset back.

I'd say, don't let Griffon get away with this, stop buying their figures, they are just bad, bootleg level quality.

This kurumi figure was specially bad, just take a look

Kind of wish mine didn't end up hitting the floor and one of the twintails broke now...Seeing how much it freaking raised in the aftermarket.

Ah well.

jennissimo8 years ago#2757569Just wanted to add to the prototype vs final product thing- ITEM #166043 is a very clear example on how badly done their finished products are compared to protoypes.Yep, that figure still shocks me whenever I think about it.

alyssajayne8 years ago#2757294You're using a prototype image as a comparison - big mistake, considering that Griffon figures almost never look anything like their prototypes. I just looked at user images and the back still looks to be one piece to me - the straps are just moulded from the dress, they aren't separate. picture/891310&... The colour is the only thing that looks off to me, but again... it's Griffon. I wouldn't be surprised at all.

YUKARI_8 years ago#2756121oh wow! really a broken figure? , The only way you miss that is if your blind and im pretty sure they see what they package before they ship. I don't understand them honestly.
thank you ^ ^ I really appreciate it ^ ^

I was the one who got the broken figure, but I doubt solaris could do anything about it considering inside the package it looked perfectly fine. They had good customer service and replied within a few hours with a refund. They even paid for return shipping even though it was pretty expensive. I doubt they would ever purposely sell a broken figure/bootleg.

After talking to you about your friend's figure, I considered that the quality was just bad. I'm glad it wasn't a bootleg, but regardless, it's great your friend got his money back and Solaris Japan confronted the situation. ^ ^

Looks like everything is going to be okay, so I'm glad. ^ ^

Ah yeah, I see what you mean. But that user image still looks a tonne better than the one posted by this guy. I wasn't aware that Griffon's quality was poor enough to put it on par with a bootleg :(
