- 12 years agoI've found some figures I was looking for there at a much lower price than usual, and I also found that they have used copies for sale much cheaper, but I don't have much of an idea how to buy stuff there, as most of the site is in Japanese (only a few pages have English versions)
I want to buy these :
www.amazon.co.j...
www.amazon.co.j...
www.amazon.co.j...
The Princess Silver figure is pretty straightforward, but the other two are not : "x used" is listed at lower prices, and I want to buy from those : the original price is way too much.
I want the Pita Ten figures, but I can't tell from the Japanese text if they include the figures or the DVD only without the figures, nor can I tell if they are in good condition or not. (I don't care about the DVD, I want the figures, 1 or 2x Shia and 1x Misha)
I also have no idea what payment methods do they accept (paypal would be the best), and if they combine shipping or not. I also do not know if the "used" ones are available for non-Japanese buyers, and if those combine shipping with the rest...
Can anyone help me pls.? - 12 years agoOther people can correct me if I'm wrong but I believe that Amazon.jp only allows toys to be shipped domestically- they don't ship outside of Japan for "Toys and Hobbies" link
You would probably have to use a proxy service to buy those. Plus if you do, they will probably be able to tell you what is included in the purchases.
Hope that helps.
Again this is all what I assumed, but if I'm not correct please feel free to correct me.Currently selling all my figures. PM for more info.
Fate Zero, Umineko no naku koro ni, Tiger&Bunny, UtaPri, Atelier Rorona, Gundam 00, and Howl's Moving Castle Doujin for sale - 12 years ago • Updated 12 years agoThe Pita Ten figures are in the DVD section, though. They are bonus figures for DVDs. In worst case I'll try a proxy service but I hope I can avoid that. There are so many with so different rates, I don't want to end up with one that charges insane amounts like 2000Yen per item.
Edit : I've written a mail to Yokatta, their charges seem fair and their service is easy to use. I'm currently waiting for an answer. - 12 years agoI read on a site that amazon only does ems shipping internationally (I was going to buy some magazines, but ergh that's going to be way too expensive).
Good luck with Yokatta. Hopefully you can get everything you wanted.Currently selling all my figures. PM for more info.
Fate Zero, Umineko no naku koro ni, Tiger&Bunny, UtaPri, Atelier Rorona, Gundam 00, and Howl's Moving Castle Doujin for sale - 12 years agoAnytime I've ordered with them they shipped via Fed Ex, not EMS, unfortunately.
From what I remember they did not accept Paypal.
Any used items will have to be bought via proxy 99% of the time. These will be shipped directly from whomever is selling it, not from Amazon directly. Only exception would be if they're an Amazon partner selling on consignment out of Amazon's warehouses. Not sure if that program exists with Amazon JP though. - 12 years agoFedEx is very very expensive, probably even more so than doing it through Yokatta (which costs only 700 yen for up to 3 figures according to their site). And they are used...the new ones are insanely expensive.
Anyway, Yokatta will handle everything hopefully, the question is whether the used DVDs still have the figure or not. In the worst case, I'll get that Princess Silver figure at least $20 cheaper than from ebay and nothing else, which is still a great deal. 52% off is quite the bargain. - 12 years agoarchigramAnytime I've ordered with them they shipped via Fed Ex, not EMS, unfortunately.
That explains why shipping is so expensive. I tried to order some discounted manga some years ago, four volumes for 380 yen each. Than Amazon charged me around 60€ for shipping! Bought them through a proxy then. It's so much cheaper. - 12 years agoGood product availability but the shipping prices are horrible! I'll never order from them directly!
- 12 years ago • Updated 12 years agoUh...I went into the "toys and hobbies" category, and "displaying 1-25 out of 655,000 results"...Guess the browse and look for good deals method won't work here, lol
hmm I found the sub-category that has figures only, still 254,000 results....
They could really add a sort option for "discount rate", or something.
I thought I'd check it out if they have other things I'm interested in at half price, but this way I won't...looking through 254k figures is just...no thx.
Directly searching for the stuff I want seems the only working method. - 12 years agoSo is the best way to order from amazon.jp through a proxy service?
If so, which do you find to be the best on prices? The item I want is the last in stock so I'm eager to grab it up.ι нεαя, α vσιcε sαყ "∂σи'т вε sσ вℓιи∂"
- 12 years agoI've decided on Yokatta (700 yen per item fee). Whether it's the best or not I will find out once I receive my package.
- 12 years agoI ordered my mini Danboards (Amazon ver.) from Amazon.co.jp thru proxy. Domestic shipping was 0 yen ^^
Can't remember now if cuz they were so cheap or cuz I got over some limit for free shipping ^^
Used Goody Japan(using them for most exclusive stuff or items not on shops like HS and AmiAmi).
They have different prices depending on item cost www.goody-japan... - 12 years ago

If you search for Miku VN02 and Nuclear Fusion Rin on Y! Japan auctions they're going for pretty low. I guess they just aren't very popular or coveted in Japan. (imo, there's way too much Vocaloid stuff) - 12 years agoWow, maybe I'll wait a bit and snag Rin when she's at an ultimate low >____>;
- 10 years agoI ordered all 10 volumes of the reprint of the Yokohama Kaidashi Kikou manga (ENCYCLOPEDIA #1196) from amazon.co.jp. Since they ship books worldwide, I didn't need to use any proxy.
The pricing was fair and the availability good. The ordering process was smooth and most was available in English.
It appears they use DHL exclusively for these shipments. The shipping turned out to be ¥20 more than the books themselves (items: ¥6,380, shipping: ¥6,400). I would have preferred if they had used another carrier because DHL apparently always tries to deliver these shipments directly to the recipient instead of leaving them somewhere more convenient to be picked up by the recipient. The shipping from Japan was very fast but the whole procedure was delayed because they kept trying to deliver the package when I wasn't home. While this detracted from my amazon.co.jp experience, it's not really the fault of amazon. Now knowing this, I might use a proxy if I ever buy anything from amazon.co.jp again.
The items were shipped in a not-so-ordinary box. The box was completely glued together. There was a strip that needed to be ripped off in order to open the box. The items themselves were shrink-wrapped to a piece of cardboard the same size as the bottom of the box, much like what HLJ often does. This way of packaging, at least manga, was sufficient and my items arrived without any dents or scratches.
I'll give them a rating of 4.5/5. I would have given them 5/5 if they had used a more convenient carrier.Hi! My name is yama. I am niced to meet you.™ - 10 years agoOh, I've ordered off Amazon.co.jp before. (´・ε・`)
I ordered some CDs; shipping overseas. ^^ It's a shame that most products can't be shipped overseas . . . some figures on there are great prices. Anyway ~
Oh my god the shipping charges are horrendous. Seriously. Just . . . gah. However, everything else was excellent. I guess for the terribly high shipping price, everything else better be good (LOL). My CDs were a preorder . . . they arrive the /day/ the CDs were released in Japan. I was shocked by that, aha. It was a pleasant surprise.
If you're okay with the shipping costs, then the site is absolutely excellent to order from. - 10 years agoAnybody know how big their boxes are? And what labelling they put on the outside (namely the value of the item)?
I've just placed an order for ITEM #99080, for forwarding by BiJ. Of course I'm hoping it can fit a small packet.Japanese radishes are usually attached to the secret in substitution for the weapon of the version. - 10 years agoShiddo • 12 years ago • I ordered my mini Danboards (Amazon ver.) from Amazon.co.jp thru proxy. They have free shipping on most items.
Wildstar • 10 years ago • Anybody know how big their boxes are?
It's been a while since I've ordered anything and when I do it's usually just DVDs or BDs because the discounts counter the high shipping prices, but I think it depends what boxes they have on hand. If they're out of small boxes, they might send your item in a huge box. I've received a DVD in a box that could've fit at least 10 DVDs in it before. Wasn't huge all things considered, but definitely larger than required for the item. I'm guessing they had run out of the regular boxes/mailers they use. I'm not sure how they package for figures. - 433 replies
